My Photography Site

I've done several photo-shoots for different people, and a few people have suggested for me to make a little site for me to display some of my photography : ) So I've made one with wix, and for anyone who's interested, here you go: http://www.wix.com/tarahueper/akphotography

Enjoy!!

It's sad how quickly I forgot that I need to blog weekly. LoL i'm not one of those types of people that journal or record things everyday : ) So, reader, I guess you're pretty lucky to be seeing posts from me again, eh?

Right now I'm overwhelmed by all the photos I'm taking. To catch up I need at least 4 hours of editing each day for at least a week. I've got a big list of requests from people to have me send out photos for them. So if you ask me to send some photos, don't be expecting to see them until at least 1 week after you asked me about them.

I, for the holidays, have gotten my first two *paying* requests for my photography, and I did both of the "shoots" this week. If I am already having request this year, I wonder how many I will have in a few years? I can't tell.

I apologize for not having any of my photos to show you or any editing techniques to demonstrate to you. Right now I'm in Baudette, Minnesota! In about a week I will be back home and be able to access my pictures and editing program :)

I often wonder I wonder if there's someone actually reading my blog. It's seems like I'm just writing to myself. Anyone out there? Anyone?.....

Me and my camera

I live in Homer, AK. Kinda of a random place, don't you think? I've lived there almost all of my life. It's home...... and a great place for photographers!

I got my first camera last year, a Sony Powershot. It was a point-and-shoot camera. Then this summer, it broke, and I decided it was time to get a new one. So I saved up, and bought a Nikon D500! It was a huge step, going from a cheap sony to a DSLR camera (There is still a TON I need to learn about it....). With a Nikon D500, there are so many options. Unlike my other camera, there is much more preparation required to recieve good quality photos. But it's so worth it.

I encourage those who are passionate about photography to get a really good quality camera. Like I said, it's so worth it. All the money you use to buy one it totally worth it. Go for it!!
